Well, what is an is an exjoburger anyway?

Joburg is an abbreviation of Johannesburg (Jo'burg). The Johannesburg I'm referring to is the biggest city in South Africa. I lived in Johannesburg until late last century (sounds a long time ago but it wasn't), when I moved to Long Island, New York.

Why an ex-Joburger and not an ex-South African? It didn't me take long to realize that I would always be a South African, no matter where I go. Even if my accent disappears I'll still be a South African. Although, as time goes by and I get more and more Americanized, I'll become a South-African American!.

As well as being an Ex-Joburger, I also write software for a living, as well as in my spare time.
